Our chef Ingvar Neemre recommends to use home-grown products, also meat (if possible) and marinate it for at least 24 hours.
"It's well-known that Estonians like to grill, during summer season. The warmer the weather gets, the more we like to see on our dinner table a perfect and juicy steak," says Neemre, who's menu emanates from this very principle.
"We have actually gone back to our roots with this menu, I mean one the recipes for our shashlik is actually from 1987!"
Here is the easiest recipe recommendation from our chef Ingvar Neemre:
1 kg pork steak
1 kg onions
100 g garlic
50 g chilli
5 bay leaf
10 grains of black pepper
10 grains of spice pepper
50 g sugar
30 g salt
Dice the meat to 5cm cubes, cut the onions, garlic and chilli, put everything together in a bigger bowl, mix it, and let it set for at least 24 hours.
